660 Days Old...March 28, 2013

 

Anderson actually cooperated for a photo session this morning before telling his big brother goodbye because Jackson is leaving for his very first mission trip today. Anderson loves his brother, and I'm sure he's going to be looking all over for him tonight. I guess I'm going to have to get extra snuggle time with Anderson to make up for not having any snuggle time with Jackson tonight!

Anderson enjoyed his first "sleep over" tonight. Sshhh....don't tell him, but it was really for Jackson. Anderson, however, thought he was invited to the party because he wanted to do everything the big boys were doing, from playing with play dough to watching movies. He kept up pretty well, but he had no idea that the party went long after his bed time; he would have been so upset! Look at him posing like a big boy! What a cutie pie!

What good is a kid sized air mattress if you can't lay it in the hall and use it as a trampoline? This little monkey has had a blast playing on Jackson's air mattress, and he and his brother have had a blast making a fort out of it by blocking the hallway entrance and hiding behind it. Both boys will be devastated when I finally get tired of the air mattress taking up space and pull the plug on it. Until then, the fun and games continue!

This cute little bugger was such a mess in the tub tonight. See that watering can in his hand? He kept filling it up with water and then drinking from the spout. He thought it was hilarious! That little stinker of mine is precious to boot, even when he is drinking dirty bath water!

And this is why they call it Dirty Rice! Definitely one of Anderson's favorite meals, and if I can get this sweet little boy to eat a whole meal, that makes this Mama super happy!

21 Months Old

 

 

 

Okay little guy, I can't believe that you are already 21 months old and that just around the corner we will have your 2nd birthday. You are a delightful little boy still, and have the sweetest personality. You love to be cuddled, but you are fiercely independent, wanting to do everything for yourself, including picking out your breakfast and snacks!

 

You still aren't talking except to say "no" and "bye" and it seems that the more we encourage you to talk, the more you laugh it off. I keep telling myself that you'll speak sooner or later, but I'm so ready to hear you call me "Mama" for the first time.

 

You  have loved the warmer weather, and you really enjoy being outside playing in the yard and with chalk and balls. It's going to be a great spring and summer, and your Daddy and I can't wait to see what you are  up to in the next few months!

This little stinker has downright mastered the word, "No" lately. He cracked me up so hard at church today; We had no more walked into church when I smelled that he had filled his pants up. I had already changed one really bad diaper this morning, so when I laid him down on the changing table I said, "Now Anderson, next time you have a poopy diaper, you need to save it for your Daddy, okay?" Anderson didn't miss a beat and proudly hollered out, "No!!!" I couldn't help but laugh at what a funny little man he has turned out to be, even if it means that I had to change yet another poopy diaper!
