50 Days Old…July 27, 2011

Today is Anderson’s 50 day birthday! I can’t believe that he’s been in our family for that long already. It seems like he was born just yesterday! Not much to report as far as changes for him. He is still balding, oddly enough it’s just on his left side of his head. We’re guessing that he likes to sleep on that side. I would take a picture, but I don’t want to embarrass the little guy and make him self conscious! And although he is still the spitting image of Jackson, I’m starting to see more of myself in him than I ever did in Jackson.

Last night he took a bottle at 9:45 and slept until 3:00 this morning. Jeremy and I were thrilled. Maybe soon he will surprise us and sleep all night, but we can’t complain too much about his schedule. A is like a clock, wanting food every 3ish hours during the day and 4ish at night. We had gone up to 5 ounce bottles, but after he kept spitting up we went back down to 4 ounces and he is doing much better.

I’ve found that Anderson loves to turn his tummy time into an extended nap time. The little guy will sleep for 2 hours on his tummy when I put him down in the floor. I watch him like a hawk when he is sleeping like that because it makes me nervous, but he is so relaxed and comfortable that I let him keep doing it. I can’t wait for him to start turning over to his tummy so he can sleep at night like that since he loves it so much!

Anderson went with Jackson, my Mom and I to the Cattleman’s Mooseum, AL Dept of Archives and History, and the Little White House of the Confederacy today and was perfect! The little guy is so laid back and relaxed that he makes short little outings so easy, as long as it’s not time for a bottle while we are in the car. Then all bets are off!

I guess that’s it for today. Here are his 50 day pics. Enjoy!

45 Days old…July 22, 2011

Not much new to report with Anderson other than the fact that he's balding like a middle aged man! Jackson gets the biggest kick out of pointing out Anderson's receding hairline to everyone! A is still super laid back and calm. He's up to 11 pounds and 5 ounces, and he's really filling out, especially in his cheeks. He's got the cutest little double chin now! We have one more week at home together and then he starts at Jackson's school, so we are just really enjoying time with him. He's starting to talk to us a lot, and although we aren't getting many smiles yet the kiddo stays just as content as can be! I guess that's it for today. We'll be back in 5 days!100_3635 100_3639

40 Days Old...July 17, 2011

I can't believe that Anderson is already 40 days old. He hasn't changed much in the last few days, but Jackson and I did hear him burp the other night and then Anderson smiled and laughed at himself. That was a first! We have had a few smiles here and there, but for the most part Anderson is still acting shy with us! We are still on the same 3-4 hour bottle schedule during the day, and he's still getting up at 2:00 in the morning and around 5:00 in the morning. I need to run now...the little guy is calling for his Mama. Enjoy the pics!

35 Days Old...July 12, 2011

Anderson is now 35 days old and it feels as though he has always been a part of our family. He is still doing great! He's up to 4 oz. in each bottle, and eating every 3-4 hours. We're still waiting on him to sleep through the night, but for the most part he is still getting up around 2 and around 5 in the morning, so I guess he's doing pretty good as far as that is concerned.

He's still not much of a crier, preferring to just grunt when he isn't happy. He will cut loose every now and then, but 99% of the time he's pretty relaxed and calm, which is good when you also have a very active 5 year old in the house! I guess that's about it for now. Enjoy the pics!

30 Days Old...The Little Guy Is 1 Month Old!!!

Today is July 7th and Anderson is 1 month old today! It's amazing how much he has changed in just a month. When he was born he weighed 8lbs 2oz. and he was 20 inches long. At his checkup today he was 10lbs and 22 1/2 inches long! He's in the 75% for his height and 50% for his weight, so he is doing great. Switching to formula when we did was definitely the right move, and the little guy is thriving!

In other exciting news, Anderson smiled for the first time ever this morning at his 2:00 feeding. I was so glad that I switched feeding times with Jeremy and I was the one that got to see the first smile! And not surprisingly, his smile looks exactly like Jackson's did as a baby!

Anderson is still on the same feeding schedule, eating 3-4 ounces every 3 hours during the day and getting up once at night. He is holding his head up great and he's really starting to have much more alert times when he just loves to check things out. We've been blessed that he still doesn't really cry, and for the most part he is just a perfectly happy and content baby. The last month has flown by, and we can't remember life before Anderson joined our family! All we know for sure is that Anderson has made life even better!

25 Days Old...July 2, 2011

Whoops! This one almost slipped by me today. Because I'm not looking at a calendar all the time my days tend to slip up on me. Jeremy and I were talking this morning and we both said that we can't believe we are almost at the one month mark with Anderson. The little guy is growing like a weed, and he is still such an amazing baby. He's laid back, calm and very easy going. We have gotten so lucky with this little guy!

We're still on the same schedule of him getting a bottle around 10:00 at night and then he will wake us up by grunting around 2:00. One time we made it from 10 to 3and we were thrilled! He loves to sleep in the morning and then he is pretty alert during the afternoon. Thankfully he still likes to sleep at night for us! He is still constantly getting the hiccups, something that he carried over from utero. They don't seem to bother him much, but they do cause him to spit up occasionally which is always fun for us! We haven't seen his first smile, but he's so close. I just hope he shows it to me first! I guess that's all for today. We'll be back in 5 more days!
